Wammy Kid: "Story" by ~ObsidianPyro:iconObsidianPyro:

((WARNING: The following contains Death Note spoilers. If you have not finished the series, do not continue to read. THIS MEANS YOU, ~Two-Faced-Joker!
Also, please be sure to read the Artist’s Comments. ^_^ Thank you.))

Alias: Story (or “Spaz”)
Real name: Unknown.
Current age: 17

Personality:
Quiet, watchful, usually calm, creative, somewhat detached, a bit spacey, may seem uncaring, overcurious, practical, yet willing to believe anything, daydreamer, cunning, manipulative, logical, nature-girl, loves the outdoors, somewhat of an adrenaline junkie(despite her seemingly mellow nature)

Fashion:
~Prefers the color black because it makes her feel safe, but will wear anything, really
~Dislikes shoes, but almost always wears socks. Destroys many pairs by refusing to take them off until they are riddled with holes and no longer useful.
~Loves hats(favorite = a black bucket hat; old favorite was a tan bucket hat, like Gilligan’s, but it grew too small for her.)
~Likes loose, comfortable clothes
~Tends to wear oversized hoodies
~Overlarge t-shirts under the hoodies

Some personal details:
~major daydreamer
~Spaces out a lot
~loves hearing/telling stories, whether they be fiction or nonfiction
~her face does not naturally show many emotions, so she has grown accustomed to creating her facial expressions deliberately, and more often than not creating whatever expression she wishes people to see rather than one which actually matches her mood.
~excellent liar; is somewhat of a compulsive liar, but most of her lies are relatively harmless
~used to be a bit of a kleptomaniac when she was younger, but Roger fixed her of that. Mostly.
~knowing she COULD steal something is just as fun as actually doing it.
~slightly arrogant – she gets a thrill from outsmarting people.
~Attracted to strange or unique things.
~Attracted to clever/powerful people like L and Light Yagami.
~loves being outside
~climbs EVERYTHING
~hangs out in trees a lot
~self-proclaimed Queen of Balance (great at balancing things ONLY WHEN SHE CONCENTRATES; otherwise she’s a klutz.)
~Often balances books and water bottles and the like on top of her head.
~Often stands with all her weight on one leg, sometimes even going so far as to lift the other leg stork-like from the ground. When the main leg gets too tired, she switches.
~blames gremlins and aliens for anything she cannot otherwise explain.

Details which affect/are related to her work:
~fidgets CONSTANTLY, especially when in deep thought
~when brainstorming peaks, the need to move around is such that she may actually get up and start to pace. At the very least, she will spontaneously get up and run to some random point in the room before stopping, turning around and calmly returning to her seat.
~if unable to move around sufficiently while thinking, her brain will just decide it isn’t worth the effort and quit trying.
~all faces look relatively the same to her, at least at first, unless there is some particularly striking feature that catches her attention. Unless she tries REALLY hard the first time, it takes quite a while for her to be able to recognize a new face unless it has a dramatic distinguishing feature. In that case, she will mostly see only that feature until she becomes more familiar with the person wearing the face. The more familiar she is with a person, the clearer their face becomes.
~has trouble making eye-contact when she is talking
~prefers to watch people rather than interact with them; people fascinate her, but it takes too much effort to act normal enough that most people aren’t weirded out by her, and therefore isn’t worth trying to socialize.
~is mostly quiet unless she has something to say. Tends to speak more, and faster, when she has a point to make or when explaining something. Also talks a lot when on a subject that truly interests her, but only if she thinks you’re interested enough to listen. She doesn’t bother talking to people who show no interest in what she has to say.
~has a mature vocabulary and is very articulate, especially on a case. However, she tends to get a bit more slangy, sarcastic, and metaphorical when very sleep-deprived.
~sporadic insomniac. It comes and goes, but when it comes, it lasts until she collapses from exhaustion.
~usually eats what she considers natural, healthy food(i.e. bread, water, and all kinds of fruit), but will consume soda and mass amounts of sugar-filled junk food in order to stay energized for a case, which probably adds to her insomnia.
~un-phased by most “bad things,” such as stealing, cheating, lying, etc., especially since she herself is often tempted by these bad habits. Though she tries to keep her morals straight for L and Mr. Wammy’s sakes, she’s really rather indifferent to it all.
~However, she detests death in all forms, and therefore takes on murder cases with a particular vengeance.

History:
Story was brought to the Wammy House at the age of four by Mr. Wammy himself, in the middle of autumn. She does not remember much of anything prior to arriving there. Her earliest memory is of sitting on a wrought-iron bench, black with age, in the middle of a leaf-strewn park, and watching the old man approach her. Her clothes were dirty and torn in places, and she was covered in small scrapes and bruises. When asked who she was or where she lived, she lied, repeatedly and elaborately, even at such a young age. However, she changed her tale every time a question was repeated, thus giving away the ruse. Concerned, Mr Wammy temporarily took her to the orphanage and proceeded to find out where she belonged so he could send her safely home. After two months of no new information, he stopped searching. On a whim, he decided to let the girl take the customary IQ test for Wammy’s House instead of immediately sending her to a different orphanage, and her score turned out to be more than acceptable.
After she was registered, she never saw Mr. Wammy again, but remained grateful to him. Soon afterward, Roger gave her the alias “Story” because of her almost constant lying. However, due to her periodical clumsiness and her frequent tendency to space out, some of the other children began calling her “Spaz.” Story did not like this at all, but the nickname caught on, and she was unable to prevent people from calling her that for the rest of her time at Wammy House.
Story has only seen L once, and has never actually talked to him, but admired him all the same. She left the orphanage when she heard the news that L died. At first she wanted to destroy Kira herself for doing such a thing, but soon rationalized that she was relatively powerless, and it would be better to let one of L’s successors take on the job. Story was never really in line to become the next L. She did not have the right kind of attitude for such a responsibility.
Once the Kira case was closed, Story began doing some freelance detective work, but only cases that were unusual enough to interest her. She wrote novels and screenplays in her free time and became moderately famous under two pseudonyms. She never went back to Wammy’s House. She still visits from time to time, but since both Wammy and L had been killed, she had no more significant attachments to that place. She did not make many real friends there.

~She respects L and Mr. Wammy. Wammy is like a grandfather, and L is like a hero to her, mainly because he’s both weird and smart at the same time. However, she does NOT aspire to become the next L.
~She has little respect for Roger, kind as he is. Not sure why.
~She dislikes both Mello AND Near because in her eyes, neither of them compare to the L whom they both seek to replace.
~She respected Light Yagami for his genius, but pitied him for his weakness(such as being blinded by avarice), and eventually hates him for causing L’s death.

Author's Comments

Okay, so a little while back *Slinkers held a biiiiiig contest, and part of it was Death Note related. The Death Note section was to create your own genious kid from Wammy's House, basing them off of yourself. I wasn't very interested and far too busy, so I did not partake in this contest.

Silly me.

Now it's voting time, and looking through everyone ELSE'S Wammy Kid has made me want one of my own. D:

So here she is! The Wammy genious based off myself - code name: Story.
I'm lazy, so I haven't drawn her yet in official Death Note form. But this is her profile. So chyeah.

And if you have not seen Death Note yet and are reading this(coughJOHNcough) I will kill you. With grapefruit. Don't even TRY to imagine it. :pissed:

Anyway, check out some other cool Wammy fankids(and mebbe vote for them :ninja:):
